Bonjour! I'm Andrea Behn, known at Parker as Madame Behn. I've been teaching at Parker for 9 years, and I love it! Prior to Parker I taught middle school French and English for 7 years. I can't believe it is already my tenth year here!
This year I will be teaching French II, III, IV and 5/AP, though I have taught all five levels in my time here. I'm also the adviser for French Club and la Société Honoraire de Français.
I earned my degree in education, French and English at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and my Master's Degree in Modern Language at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. I recently became a National Board Certified Teacher!
I've lived, worked, and traveled in France. I spent a semester living with a family and going to school in Toulon, France. Later, I spent a year in Nantes, France, teaching English. I have taken three student trips to France and have gone twice for vacation. I've also been to Montréal and Québec City in Québec and to many cities in Morocco. Last summer I traveled to Haiti with three former students on a mission trip through Missions of Hope. The experience was amazing. I LOVE to travel, and have been to several other countries and to many of the states.
In my free time, I love to read, cook, and travel. I enjoy running and yoga, as well as just relaxing and watching movies. Currently, my free time is mostly taken up by reading books on education and teaching and finding helpful web sites that will help me strengthen the French program at Parker.
I'm passionate about teaching, French, and all things French. Vive le français!
